After listening to Peter Richard Conte’s CD ‘The Wanamaker Legacy’ Gothic CD G49240 I had to hear this organ live. On a baking hot summers day I stepped into The John Wanamaker Building (now Macey’s ) in Philadelphia. Entering the air conditioned  opulence of the building on ‘Organ Day’ I was riveted to the spot by the majesty of sound from this Emperor of instruments. I cannot do better than to ask you to listen to this CD it makes the hairs on the back of your neck stand up. The delicacy of playing, the depth of tone, the beautiful quality of the divisions, the registration in the playing, the selection of the pieces and the recording quality are just breathtaking. If you have first class audio equipment you are in for a treat with this CD. This organ is a national treasure and Mr Conte does it justice with his musical artistry yet again.
