Cesar Franck—Music for the Organ
Visser-Rowland Organ
Bates Recital Hall, University of Texas at Austin
Frank Speller, organist
Frank Speller plays Franck on the large Visser-Rowland tracker organ at UT-Austin. Included are the Three Chorales, published posthumously and among Franck's greatest achievments. The Grande Pièce Symphonique is the first large organ suite titled as a Symphony—setting the pattern for later works in this genre by Widor and Vierne. Finally, Speller concludes with his own arrangment of Franck's most popular vocal work.
